Had a quick one then left.

Another boring St Austell pub.

4/10

Better than I was expecting but I like the old-fashioned look of pine-clad bars. Proper Job and Tribute on sale. TV with subtitles (minus point).

There seems to be some sort of music every night. Went in last Thursday and there were 5 musicians who all seemed to be playing different tunes. 3 of them sang and none of them was even basic Karioke standard. OK if you like that sort of thing but not for me.

Paid a visit at opening time last Sunday, beer well kept, but place let down by urgent repairs needed in the gents wc, ( bog seat still missing circa 2009).

Dog friendly pub

Used to drop in here from time to time, always early evening, and found it usually pretty empty and dull. BUT one night a couple of visits to St Ives ago we went in after half-ten and it was rocking! Great live music, heaving with happy people, and the beer on great form. The Kiddley is now firmly established as the perfect end to a night on the lash in St. Ives!

Underrated pub with decent beers in Tribute and Proper Job. The local musician's night is worth a visit and it does have a well kept open area for smokers at the back of what is now the carvery.

My wife and I go there everytime we're in St Ives, which has to be 4 or 5 times a year, and we've never noticed any smell!

This is a good pub with reasonable prices. We went Sept 07 during the festival and so there was a great atmosphere with live local musicians and a poet. The only downside about this pub is that there seemed to be an overwhelming smell from the toilets. We even saw two people walk in and buy a drink and then leave pretty quick I presume because of the smell. I hope they realise this problem soon as it's a shame. But like I said other than the smell its a great little pub. I would of mentioned it to them but I guess I'm too polite, hopefully somebody else might.

Kettle & Wink bar on the ground floor is best.
