user reviews of Henleys Bar, Wood Green

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Re-opened as a swish new bar....won't be everyone's cup of tea, especially not old Henley's regulars, as they only serve one lager on tap (admitedly a very tasty one) and ales in bottles and it's very middle class but the staff are friendly, the music is good and it's an infinite improvement on what Henley's had become. Good luck to them I say.

Wish someone would put this pub out of its misery, the owner tried to sell it a few months ago but it didn't even meet its reserve price despite the fact the price included the flat above.Sums the place up.

Quieter than it use to be(as are most pubs), but ok locals.

I was in here for a couple of beers last Friday night and there were only about 6 other people in. The barmaid was very friendly and the locals seemed ok even though they were so drunk they couldnt open the door to leave.

The front of this shop conversion is very small and looks very unwelcoming, like an estate social club. There is a plasma screen at either end of the narrow pub, one of which was showing cricket and the other had Gavin and Stacy playing away. Both had the sound on which was mildly irritating.

I was directed to the back yard for a cigarette and found myself plunged into total darkness. I ended up using the light from my phone to discover that there are a couple of tables out there along with the beer crates.

Even though the barmaid was nice and locals inoffensive I dont think that Ill bother returning here.

I used to work at this pub in '99. Does anyone know who owns it now? What happened to Pat? I'm coming back for a visit in October and I'm going to check it out... sad to hear it's gone downhill.

Been living in the area for three months and have been in here a few times. Agree with the comments below. Has had some good entertainment on Saturday nights.

It is a locals pub. Not sure I can recommend it as last weekend I saw a big bloke attack a woman and beat up her boyfriend rather badly. That's not what I want from a pub.

Its supposed to be a Bar but Its more like a Licensed Betting shop selling Beer. Apart from The jock thats so loud you can here him from the street the other customers are OK and its not too bad except when theres racing or football on TV.

Not a bad little pub, not sure how it survives. I've been in there on a sat night and there's been 4 other people in there. Seems freindly enough. (apart from that incredibly loud regular-if you've been in there whilst he's been in there you'll know exactly who I mean.)

I think I saw a blinding off in here about three years ago. Geezer proper deserved it. Bloke who done him was a model of restraint. I've always remembered that. I must go there again. Realy nice place.

dont come into this pub during the day or early evening unless you like drinking in a glorified betting shop

Was a lovely little pub but not so now. You feel as if you've walked into somewhere you shouldn't have as the locals definitely give you the "once over" on your way to the bar.

Oh Dear!!!
What was once quite a pleasant local has gone down the pan!! Horrible clicky atmosphere,if dont bet on the horses you will feel strange in this pub.
Shame, was a nice little boozer a couple of years ago

Crap since Pat left. Can't think of anything positive since it changed hands. Bare, grubby, ciggie burns all over the cistern in the ladies (I'm a smoker but that's disgusting). If the new owner doesn't realise the previous customers are going elsewhere, then he'll be out of business soon, sooner!

An absolute fantastic pub with the best home cooked food in the area, seved between 12-3 and 5-7. You can't beat it!

Small, but more than makes up for it. Can appear clicky the first couple of times you go in there. It isn't, its just the locals know each other so well. great pint of guinness!
