Wow, what a hidden gem. Just enough off the beaten track to hide it from the "unwashed that frequent Wetherspoons"

Doggy friendly with morsals and water on tap, and for we humans, choice of excellent ales.

Please visit, you will not be let down.

Dog Owners Please note, Pooches in the bar only

A little off the normal tourist route; ok cask ales and food served.

Very ordinary sort of modern pub. The beer we had was in good order, Tribute I believe.

Always been the odd man out of St Ives pubs and I go back 30 years. Could never work out what was wrong but "estate style" pub sums it up very well. That said it has several good points, principal among them being the price of the beer 2.25/pt for IPA is pretty good by local standards. Has a large bar, a food orientated lounge and a small courtyard garden which is very well decorated with flowers and shrubs. Friendly and efficient barmaid. Not the most atmospheric of pubs but a good place for a cheap pint in St Ives away from the main street tourist traps. Rates a 6 from me

Modern 'estate style' kind of two sectioned bar/lounge set up. Not your typical Cornish tourist haunt, though reasonable enough. The St.Austell Tribute wasn't a bad pint.

Called in to book up for the carvery on the Sunday, and was glad we did as it was a super carvery. So many veg with it too - great. Paid for pudding and had a bit of a struggle after such a good carvery, but would certainly go back there next time we visit. The St Austell HSD was fine too.

Bit of a locals pub. Went there for food and I have to say it was very nice. The carvery is especially good value. Beer was good (St Austell Tribute & IPA). Best place in town to watch the football on telly. Probably not as tourist focussed as some of the other pubs, but a friendly place none the less.

Food was awful. Staff unhelpful. Asked if possible to have salad with duck instead of pots and veg. Request refused and was told we would need to order an extra salad . Salad was lettuce and tomatoes on tea plate. Duck was so overcooked that it was rock hard AND to top it all after having paid for an extra salad they decided not to bring the normal veg as we'd ordered a salad (at extra cost remember)!!!
A couple of good beers apart from that "rubbish".

Too food orientated.
