More of a food place now. It's pretty good considering that it's a mcmullens place. Won't go for a pint but we do go with the family for food and its very reliable with decent staff

Food was nice but i could have done without my added extra (a bit of plastic). Other than that i enjoyed myself and would go back.

What, like salmonella?

The beer is well kept, the staff are pleasant and the Beef and Ale pie is to die for.

We visit this pub quite regularly as it is only a short walk from home and it is consistently pleasant, with very friendly staff and good food. Service can be a little slow at times.

Newly refurbished. Now modern and welcoming. Very pleasant in the evenings as the sun hits the beer garden full on. Food is good if you like the McMullens menu. One of my favourite Herts pubs now.

Had a meal recently - quite good value. The new decor is much brighter than before.

Completely revamped interior and menu, but has retained friendly atmosphere. Not a cosy place, more restaurant than pub, but great for lunch and early evening dinner. Specials are reliably good and apparently prepared on the premises. Good value for money, too and staff are very helpful and friendly

Passed the pub this evening and saw a sign indicating that it will reopen on September 6th.

The pub is currently closed for major renovation. The date of the re-opening is not known.

I've only visited this pub once and it struck me as being rather soulless, possibly because of its size. There are a number of similar pubs in this region - huge places which seem to be aimed more at the business lunch market. Although I enjoy dining out, I must say I prefer a more homely, traditional type of pub (a 'local') than a 'restaurant that serves beer'.

Good food ,pub always very busy which is a good sign. Very friendly owners.
No loud music. Good place for a nice relaxed lunch or a business lunch.
