Met some friends here on a Friday night and was pleased to find it wasn't as busy as expected. There were three ales on: Greede King Ruddles County, Wolf Granny Wouldn't Like and Cliff Quay Sea Dog. Good to see that two of the beers were from small local breweries. The Wolf was in good condition although a bit fruity for my liking (that was down to the beer rather than the way it was served though).

Come down and see us, under new management. A range of 6 ales to choose from including, Abbot 1.99, Pedigree 1.79, Ruddles 1.29 and rotated guest ales at 1.89 which include Woodfords and Nethergate and some of the local Micro brewers in the area. We try to be friendly and helpful and make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Went in around teatime.pleasantly surprised by the mellowness and behaviour of the natives. If this is the case later in the evening,i couldn't say!
Usual great prices and wide range of beers. The usual 'wetherspoons wait' to get served.Wouldn't bother with the food, but who goes to wetherspoons to eat!!!????
Will go again.

I did not know what to make of this pub. I have been in many Wetherspoons pubs but this was totally different. It was firstly a good local pub with very little trace on the inside that it was a JDW one.
One of the best pints of 'Abbott' I have ever had, indeed so good we had 4! Rather scruffy not helped by the building it's part of. Not much in the way of real ale.

great location, right in the centre of town, and just down the road from the football ground. much has changed since i came in here 2 years ago. better clientele, constant range of at least 6 real ale now. food is great, there is a large non-smoking area up-stairs 2, with a small bar there. though does get very busy weekend and monday night!!
