Popped in here on the way back to the campsite next door. Beers in ok condition, but not much to write home about.

Had a couple of pints and a meal, the beer were very good. The menu was a bit strange to say the least. We ended up having the Chili con carne and chips, which comprised of sweet corn, tomatoes, kidney beans and a little chilli. It was nice enough as chilli veg and chips but that is about it i'm afraid. When your have brief look at the menu you are inclined to believe
they serve meat with the likes of crispy duck and a chicken dish but they don't. Friendly pub atmosphere and to be honest we hd a laugh but it is pricey.

Called at the Crag Bar whilst camping at Castlerigg earlier this month - July 2011 with my family. We all ordered the veggie lasagne but unfortunately didn't enjoy our meal at all. The lasagne consisted of overcooked congealed pasta in a weird smoky flavoured sauce - it contained no vegetables whatsoever, only soya mince. It was served with chips which were already salted ! and a spoonful of grated carrot as a token bit of salad. It was very poor quality for the 6.80 that we paid. The owner did not ask if we had enjoyed our meal when he collected our plates I am sure he was well aware that what he had served us was disgraceful. I have never written a poor review before, but I didn't want anyone else to be as disappointed as we were. We certainly wouldn't return.

Nice cosy hotel bar, friendly atmosphere with friendly staff. Playing 70s/80s background rock music. Real good ales a bit expensive but worth it just to listen to music played by bands before boy bands came along. Havent tried the food as they dont use meat. Strange! My nephew had a meal and said it was wonderful. Takes all sorts!

Very small pub, that gets busy with campers. Good jennings bitter and when we went the staff kept serving through a power cut and bought out candles for all the tables. Get there early, and if it's raining, stay for the night !
