user reviews of Old Bank, Bradford

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

You can probably guess what the Old Bank used to be in its former life. The interior feels a bit bland and lifeless now though. We sat in the side room, which struggles without natural light. We were there at 10am on a Saturday morning. One other customer soon walked in. But the atmosphere was obviously lacking. 6 ales were on - Coach House Lemon & Ginger, Naylor's Spoke, Hancock's HB, Salamander Golden, Scarborough Citra & Sharp's Doom Bar. Wifi didn't work. But you could get hold of the Ginger Goose wifi, just the other side of the wall. Both pubs are part of the same chain. The Old Bank was probably the best in the chain.

Paid another visit today. 4 pumps at the bar and all available, offering Stancill Barnsley Bitter, Sharps Atlantic, Sharps Doom Bar, and Coach House Plum Bitter.

I went for a half of the Coach House Plum at £1.60 (presumably making a pint £3.20). This was a nice drink, the plum was subtle but could definitely be tasted.

A list of forthcoming ales were on a chalk board. The staff were attentive, clearing and resetting tables between customers (even where tables had only been used for drinks rather than food). Service was pleasant and friendly.

This pub is now open and serving real ales. 4 pumps, all of which were on at the time of my visit. One was Doom Bar, the rest all something a bit more interesting. I had a pint of Blueberry Bitter by Coach House Brewery, 5.0% and set me back £3.00.

Was quiet on my weekday afternoon visit. A pleasant smart pub, ale in good condition, and friendly service.

This pub is still closed but will no doubt get snapped up sharpish when the new shopping centre gets underway, possibly later this year.

A lot better since the smoking ban but needs a bit of brass spending on it and also they need to improve the toilets....can be a bit hit n miss if they have have any real ales on....

It should be the best pub in Bradford. It needs a re-think, up stairs is never open, the gents are bad, for any bad gents. No real ale, just the pumps. The edges of the floors are think with dirt. Needs some money spent on it.

The Old Bank is great pub for all your sporting events, with new landlords Mark and Diane it has become an enjoyable and fun location to drink.

When this pub first opened in 1997, it was a refreshing addition to the Bradford real ale scene. Ten years on, the beer is still of an acceptable quality, but the decor has deterioated to an very poor level.

Possibly the worst pub food in Bradford. Avoid the 'Ultimate Burger', or 'Ultimate Mistake' as I prefer to call it, at all costs - I was bed ridden for a full week after consuming this seemingly tasty morsel.
