Is it a Pub? Is it a Hotel? Neither, and yet both, it's an Inn. A pretty good one too! Always had a decent meal here and the beer has been consistently good. Friendly and efficient staff and a well stocked bar. Handy for the Cinema and other town centre attractions which include "market place car park noisy youth cars" and "closing time takeaway fighting". All in all, a value for money establishment.

My wife went in, early evening, on her own after the refurbishment and reported back very favourably. The staff were very welcoming, food and service were good. Didn't try the ale but should be good this close to the brewery.

Good (Wadworth's) beer and well-kept (but only 100 yards from the brewery). The food is extremely good too. BUT it is going to have a "major refurbishment" at the end of February 2010 and this may change things considerably. 7/10
