This pub used to be fantastic. It was a great local where you could go and enjoy a pint in a nice cosy place. now, on the couple of occasions i have visited I have honestly feared for my wife and my own safety. The youngsters in there all seem to be very aggressive and the language is far from great. The drinks are poor even if only hall and woodhouse product, the beer just didn't taste right (i don't know if the lines have been cleaned recently). The landlady also seems very dissinterested and seemed to be attached to her mobile phone constantly on both visits i made. there is none of the old atmoshphere which has been replaced with uneasiness. It is a real shame this pub has gone so far downhill, I shall not be going back.

A couple of very well kept pints of Ushers whilst watching the Chamionship play-off final in HD, can't fault this boozer on my visit.

This pub was buzzing when I paid a visit on my walk home from Tesco's a few weeks ago. The arrival of the new landlady has meant that this cute high street pub is now best described as "a boozer with style"!

Shut yet again with a sign in the window that Hall and Woodhouse are looking for yet ANOTHER landlord willing to lose a great deal of money (well, they don't put it quite that way). This landlord seems to have lasted slightly less than a year. Before it closed, it wasn't all that special, though.

Good Beer if not a little limited on varitety. Service also good.
Refurbishment an excellent idea-due to the age of most of the patrons some of the seats were 'stained' shall we say.

Nice pub. Good beer - had "King and Barnes" Sussex ale (brewed by H & W) as well as the usual Hall and Woodhouse offerring.

Service is fine.

The traditional pub atmosphere has survived a recent refurbishment.
