Went here a few weeks ago after an absence of many years - nothing has changed. Noisy, dark, expensive, horrid music. This place is not even worth going to for the late licence anymore - plenty of local bars that cater for that. Have no plans to return.

Terrible bar, one of the worst in London. Aside from the late licence absolutely nothing to recommend it.

went here a few weeks ago having read about a refurb! refurb what refurb was teh same as it was 10 years ago. if they keep it like that a bit longer it will come back into fashion. booze is expensive as plus points you can drink here after hours and it never gets crowded

"All, please join me for my 30th Birthday at Point 101 nr Ox Circ,..dress code, cocktails, music blah, blah, blah,..should be a good night,..hope to see you all here."............This is the type of place that makes you take a real good look at yourself and think about the friends you have made in your life.

(Brought i pint with a Twenty in here once and was given 2 pound change. Ooooooooh what a palava,...!)

Monday morning meeting:

"And where were you on saturday, i might ask?!"

"Ah,...Rupa,..i was meaning to apologise about that,..im sorry,..i just couldn't make it,...i was,..erm,...matching some socks....!"

Looks a bit like a porn set since the refurb. Used to be a good post 11pm drinking hole though!

Long past its sell-by date, and at the grim end of Oxford street. You can find people here who think a Mexican lager with a lime in it is cutting-edge cool.

Looking like a set from Scorsese's 'Casino' you hope for the best but instead find yourself drinking amongst the most miserably disparate crown you'll find in the whole of central London. It's obvious why people are here - for the late licence of course - but so what, I'd rather go home. Too loud to talk and certainly not set-up for a dance (not that you'd want to given the tunes) it doesn't seem to know who it wants to cater for or what it wants to be.
Good for: If you're really desperate for a final drink before heading home.

Went once. It was late. We wanted more drinks. Have hated myself ever since. Place was a mess and it did indeed take ages (possibly not aeons - I didn't notice a change in epoch or anything) to get served.

Thinking about it, I probably agree with most of the negative comments about this place in a sober state of mind. However, went in here the other night and had a real laugh (was already drunk on entry though).
Shots for 2.50 each seemed like a good idea at the time !

Charmless and expensive bar under Centre Point. Decor is grim 70's swimming pool inspired. Drinks are nice with a fair selction of bottled beers and some good cocktails, but service can take aeons. Depressingly wannabe trendy crowd and painfully retro-chic soundtrack make it hard to spend any length of time here. Ok for a quick one or two once the pubs have kicked out though.

i love it especially on a weekend

Dismal sticky floored charmless I-hate-myself-and-my-life type of establishment. Watched a tramp peeing agains the window one night which was the highlight.

Very boring, rich americans, soundtrack for 14 year old girls, distinctly average may be too generous

I've already commented on 101 twice, and I still don't get why there are massive queues for it. I walked past it a few hours ago - post 11pm - and there must have been at least 50 people waiting to get inside, where it was already heaving.
I walked right past them, headed 25 seconds down the road to the Conservatory, and waltzed straight in and ordered a pint, no queues, not heaving, nice atmosphere. Although, erm, that's a different bar. I think the lesson is, if you have money, open up a visibly central bar in London that's open beyond 11 and you'll never go broke.

If you like airport bars - then this is the place for you. It's Plastic Fantastic!

I went on thursday night, yeah it is free in but thats because you'd feel seriously cheated of your money once your in the place.
Music: sex and the city theme tune on loop
Decor: dated, dirty, boring
People: 30-40 year olds or dodgy blokes who dont speak english
Metro is much better!

anon - 17 Apr 2004 12:03
it's not that bad. at least they let you in for free after 11pm (more than most places!)

Poxy in the extreme. If the Ivy closeby is for the beautiful people, this is for those who frighten children. No atmosphere, loud 'style' music, tramps pissing against the window (nice) and sticky, dirty tables. Theres desperate, then theres deperate...
dermot - 4 Dec 2003 19:43
Love the music but prices slightly high!
anonymous - 29 Oct 2003 14:21
Nope, it's still open and rammed as ever. Only for the desperate. Free entry, long queues outside after 11. Windows all round provide the odd sight of hundreds of punters inside with their faces squashed against the glass.

Fairly pricey, always busy, slightly poncey. Once got a number from one of the girls behind the bar and then lost the bloody napkin it was on. To sum up: so much promise, so little return.

This place has closed down, hasn't it?
