Large Young's hotel on a major junction of the A40. I've passed this pub many a time, but never been in. Only Youngs Bitter & Special were being served. Although they did have a box of Old Rosie cider behind the bar, which I availed myself of. The place is fairly characterless. But at least it actually had a real cider.

I used to work in The Bridge back in the mid-70s when it WAS a Youngs real pub!
It had 3 bars: public, saloon & lounge.
The beer was excellent & cheap: 22-25pish for bitters- & they even sold mild in those days! (Not that anyone drank it...18p was too expensive for brown water?)
I haven't been there for a few years now, but I'm sure that it must have deteriorated into a gastro/restro 'bar'. Just look at The Duke of Kent...What a joke! :-(((

Couldn't agree more with the previous post, we popped in especially to check out the Thursday Karaoke as me and my partner both love a sing... Boy we were NOT disappointed. It's not the hugest venue but that ctually helped create a great atmosphere. Still great sound etc. and they're right the guy running it is hilarious and CAN actually sing himself. I think we've found our new local :-)

Boy this place has livened up 100%... They have a superb weekly Karaoke on Thursday nights now, great singers especially the guy who hosts it... Hillarious the way he rips the guys who can't sing a new asshole without offending anyone!
If you like your Karaoke & live in West London you gorra' try this place!!

I had lunch with an old friend here today and I ate a cajun chicken burger - not an haute cuisine dish, I admit. My friend had a curry. He didn't comment on the curry but my cajun chicken burger was bland and the bun cotton wool in texture as were the chips. There was a token sprig of salad too. With a pint and a half of lager and my similar amount of Young's Bitter the bill was 30.05 - not exhorbitant but there's better to be had for less elsewhere. The best I can say is unremarkable.

The photo really doesn't do this hotel/pub justice as it is of the fairly recent extension. Of much greater interest is the original building that houses the bar.
Thankfully Youngs have left the bar pretty much untouched and so it has retained it's original character. Yes, it can be quiet but sometimes I quite like that in a pub. On the other hand it can get very busy when there is a private function, like a wedding, being held in the hotel. As stated previously the Young's Special is very good and fairly priced at about 3. However, it is a shame that the smallest glass of coke they serve is a full pint at over 2! Still overall, I like the Bridge very much.

I stayed here recently whilst attending a concert at Wembley Arena. All the staff were very pleasant. The food was very good and well cooked. I did have a pint of Peroni but at 4-05 for a pint I switched back to the Young's Special. It was very good and well kept. It seemed a popular place and was very busy on all three nights I stayed here. I'd certainly call in again for a drink if in the area.

I had a meal at the Bridge a few months ago with wifey and it was good. True, it's a little pricey for what you get but the quality is there.
Often visit for the odd sherbet or 2 and the beer is a bit pricey but it's a nice place. Probably the best one in the Perivale / Greenford area I've been in.
In fact, I might just pop down now for a swifty. :)

Popped in last night for a quick meal and pint after a stressful day and my word -what a palaver!! Whereas some mortals manage to create technology that can send man to the moon, a simple request for a seasonal pie had the entire staff at a standstill: the prices on the till were different to the ones on the menu; the manager wouldn't answer the phone when the bar server tried to enquire. So i patiently sat and waited, at least safe in the knowledge that there is nowhere decent in Greenford anyway. Fifteen minutes later the jovial and well meaning yet obviously incompetent manageress confirmed that I could have the pie at the price on the menu-the original discrepancy had been over 2!! i THEN BUY A SECOND PINT WITH THE PRICE BEING RANDOMLY DIFFERENT TO THE FIRST ONE i HAD TRIED. Finally my pie arrived. Oh dear-it was the wrong one. What galls me is for the prices they bloody charge you think they would get it right. The place wasnt even busy!!

Irrespective of what Si31 tries to tell you, this place is an utter disaster. It serves poor, over priced drinks and the staff are unhelpul to say the least. I've only ever been here 3 times when there has been functions to go to and would never go back of my own choosing.

Cant believe after being mugged 3.75 FOR A PINT OF pERRONI, THE SERVER WOULDNT SERVE IT IN A PERRONI GLASS. hE WAS WORRIED THE GLASS WOULD GO MISSING. iNSTEAD i'VE GONE MISSING. sHITE PUB.

Sorry, but Mr. Smooth's comments are so wide of the mark, it's painful.

Firstly, "The Bridge" IS a hotel; it is the fact that many conferences and receptions are held here that keeps it going as a profitable concern. My daughter's naming ceremony was held hear and the staff did an excellent job.

I know the member of staff that Mr. Smooth refers to, and in the four years I have been coming to this place, she has always been polite and friendly.

The food is good. Yes, it isn't cheap, but I've only ever had one questionable meal, and that was replaced very quickly.

The beer is well kept, the Special, as fat beer badger says, is of the highest quality. I don't drink lager, but I know that they have Staropramen, Leffe and at least two others on tap.

Sorry Mr.Smooth, but your review smacks of one bad experience. I would suggest that you turn up more than 5 minutes before last orders and give "The Bridge" a proper visit before casting your judgement...

Came here after a very poor experience at The Railway. This was a welcoming break, the youngs special was beautiful and the barman was very friendly and helpful;and advised us of some other places to try on our ale crawl. This place is a credit to Youngs, just a shame they are so quiet all the time(according to the barman they had seven people all night in on the friday night b4 we visited)I'm glad there is accomodation otherwise it would be another gem sadly boarded up, 7/10 VISIT!!

This pub is nothing short of a disgrace. The lager is well over Central London prices and theyve even stop selling some of the more popular lagers. The food is an over priced under cooked mess. The management especially the vociferous jobs worth Scottish woman, who has ideas well above her minimum wage status, shuts the bar early and denies locals turning up at five minutes before last orders.
The place is basically run for transient workers lured in for the cheap rooms and then ripped off with bad food over priced drinks and a turn from the assorted Munsters lurking behind the bar.

Dump the staff! Dump the pretence!

Remember you are a pub not a hotel with a few plasterboard rooms attached to it in a working class area.

Leave hotels and posh cooking to professional companies that know what they are doing!

Shame on you YOUNGS!

Can think of a few Young's pubs in West London :

The Grange - Ealing
Coach and Horses - Isleworth
Thatched House & Hammersmith Ram - Hammersmith
Jolly Gardeners - Richmond
mitsy - 16 Jan 2008 00:04
Find me another Young's pub in Harrow, Ealing or Hillingdon; there isn't one.

The Special served here is of the highest quality. So, using this as a yardstick, since I consider Young's Special to be the epitome of good quality ale, you can undertand my point.

Additionally, the Ordinary is good, they have bottles of Well's Banana, the food is good and the staff are very friendly and efficient.

So, I stand by my comment.
Si31 - 20 Dec 2007 19:03
No disrespect Si31, but you cant have been to many pubs in west london if you think that this is one of the best
weston - 18 Oct 2007 12:47
To reiterate, a great pub, especially if you like a well-served pint of Young's Special. Also serves Ordinary, Wells' Banana and some very good food, albeit not the cheapest.
Si31 - 15 Apr 2007 16:12
would be great if they didn't sell youngs; how can anyone drink that shit?

Best pub in the whole of outer West London by far. Good food and well cared for Beer. Quiet and pleasant.

Although the Star was flat, the pub was nice and cosy, the staff were polite and the clientele seemed to be mainly made up of locals. the menu looked nice although we got there at 10pm and this was too late to order any food. I will definitely put this down to the gas/beer being off/just a dodgy night and come again. Sitting in a very overheated pub (as it was baking) and paying 3.30 a pint you want a cold fresh one. Somehow even with all the niggly little things I did like The bridge and would be keen to come back hopefully for a better experience. Oh yeah they do beef jerky as well which according to my mate is a big selling point.

Nice beer and nice staff, good little secret pub.

Big Youngs pub with attached hotel, well used by the same locals for many years, Youngs pub so as always the beer is looked after, ok for a quite pint.
