Crazy expensive beer and not a good selection. Food is very nice, as are the staff. Lots of attention to detail in the decor, perhaps a bit too poncy to be a truly successful boozer (in my humble opinion). Love the toilets though; covered in vintage girly mags. Would probably visit more if it wasn't for the ridiculous prices.

They've ruined it

Went in with a friend during May 2009 and was shocked. They've turned what was one of the few surviving 'real pubs' in Nottingham into another trendy, yuppie-esque bar with prices to suit. They've gotten rid of all the real ale and what we're left with is a pub that is a shadow of it's former self. A real shame and the most recent nail in the coffin of the Nottingham pub scene.

Recently refurbished. Looks like it's trying to be a night venue "bar" not a pub. Definitely aimed at the younger end of the market. The one server when I was in there couldn't cope with 3 at the bar, so I went next door!

Overall a good pub very stylish obviously alot of effort has been thrown into it. The food was good for its money about right for the quality. But the only feeling I got while in there is it was a swingers club, it was just to stylish for the age group that where in. With a bot more effort this pub could be a 9 or a 10.

This pub is seriously underated by a lot of people. A lot of effort has been put into the Blue Bell to create it's 'unique atmosphere'. The drinks are reasonabley priced and they clearly look after their ale. I always have a great time when I go there and is a place I would recommend anyone who has an interest in pubs to go there. A very good pub!

This must be the greatest pub in Nottingham. What can I say, a great building, decent and friendly staff that you can have a laugh with, fantastic atmosphere and good prices. A nice quiet pub in the day time and a lively social-haven come Saturday night.

I disagree with previous reviews because I often visit the pub and know what it is like at different times and know it's nothing like what has been said. The frequent use of the 'f'word adds to the unique atmosphere! I strongly recommend anyone in the area to visit this excellent pub. I have had so many good times in that pub and hopefully more to come!

if the staff spent less time of the fruit machines and more time serving the might get some business. the buildin is fantastic and this place could be briiliant if theyt put some effort in

I was confusing this place with somewhere else entirely. I don't know how I could have confused this place with anywhere else. It's really kind of nondescript, which can't be said of many pubs in the area. The drink is okay, I guess, but the staff are generally less than cheerful. Easy to escape from, though.

This is an appalling pub.

Really, just don't bother, go elsewhere...

Saturday afternoon and no-one in whereas Langtrys next door was heaving. Could be something to do with awful staff who were arguing between themselves and messing about in the pub and used quite a lot of "f" words. Real shame, a few years ago it was a good place to be. Would not recommend it at all!

A theme pub. That is assuming you consider "slow, lingering, agonising death" to be a theme. Really not good. Incidentally if you look at it from the back (Foremans St entrance) it always looks like its closed down. Oh joy, if only we were that lucky.

Not keen on this place. Seems completely devoid of life
