Not a bad pub.The only real good thing is its only 1.60 a pint on a Monday.
Apart from that it is over priced, considering its location and state.

i popped in the other week for a beer with a manager from work and was quite shocked , havent been in here since i was 18 and after reading the comments on here i was expecting the worst , but i was pleasently surprised , wasnt full of chavs , and the beer (john smiths) was perfectly acceptable , there are much worse pubs around the area than this .
didnt try the food as was only going to stop for a couple of drinks , ending up staying for 5 or 6 , the barmaid was very friendly and the locals (when i visited at least) seemed friendly
overall not as bad as a lot of people on here make it out to be , i dont know what its like on a weekend when footballs on or a night time but during the day its a perfect pub for a quiet pint

Ignore the last few reviews, talking sh*te. The GI is my local and is fine, beer was a bit ropey for a while but sorted now. This is what I call a drinkers pub, no gimmicks, good jukebox, pool table and dart board, ideal for a few pints before heading into Hornchurch.

Customers look at you as if they are scoping to see if you have anything worth nicking. I felt on edge in this pub all of the time. Decor not very nice and the atmosphere you could cut with a knife. AVOID

Used to go there before my mate moved to Birmingham.
Fairly decent prices, great sports coverage on the screens, Pool tables and dart board always good.
Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.

Friendly locals and bar staff. Plenty of screens to watch sport.

Best pub for miles around.Locals are great, bar staff are excellent.
Cheap beer and cheap food!
Shows all sports across 5 screens.
Come and see for yourself........

What a bunch of girls. A decent pint of Fosters or John Smiths, 2 all day every day, and clientele nowhere near as rough as has been indicated below. Massive screen and numerous tellys for sports and a generally decent boozer. Bar staff aren't particularly clued up though.

At least the GI has one fan. Personally I would give this establishment a very wide berth unless you know people on the estate, you are a druggie a yob or are on benefits.

Used to do mixed grills for about 3.99 - but usually had no eggs, or tomatoes, or mushrooms - but it was only 3.99 - and your feet usually stuck to the floor.
expensive beer too - for what it was.
Within walking distance of many houses.

A sprawling heap of a pub populated by the local council estate residents. Nearly had a refurb several years ago started by the landlord pulling off the wallpaper and curtains. Sadly that was as far as the refurb got. As long as you know people in there you will be fine, otherwise give it a wide bearth (unless you like close up views of pool cues).
