Been in a couple of times mid week, late afternoon. Looks and feels much like a Wetherspoons (I think it's M & B's equivalent). Pretty good choice of beers, plus Sky Sports, which you don't get in 'Spoons. Usually seem to have Greene King IPA for about £1-60 a pint, which tasted fine, but last time I went they seemed to insist on giving it to you in a hard plastic pint 'glass' when everyone else getting 'normal price' drinks was getting it in proper glass glasses. Small touch, but a bit odd.

Called in on Tuesday evening. Really busy pub although that may have been skewed by the large party that were in giving a friend a good send off.
4 real ales on, we had the Hobgoblin which was fine.

Liked the fact that all the pumps had prices on them.... you don't see that very often.

An alright place that serves a purpose if not much else, always seems busy and everyone seems happy enough whenever I have visited.
Popped in to grab some lunch the other day which was served quickly enough by seemingly happy staff.
I haven't a clue who makes it but we were drinking EPA at 1.60 a pint, on an Albert Road crawl this was pretty good news, tasted alright too for cheap stuff!

This pub is fantastic. Full of hardworking honest folk. No stuck up Albert Rd types. The drinks are cheap, cheap, cheap. Loveley garden and friendly staff. cant say a bad word about it

Worst pub in Southsea - a hellhole of horrible people, ignorant and rude staff, and filthy drinks in an otherwise decent area. A little corner of Guildhall Walk in Albert Road - AVOID AVOID AVOID.

I gave this 1/10 because the food wasnt bad, but the service in this place is total crap! the waitress was so rude, and when we had the audacity to ask for two spare plates she glared in our direction, then practically threw them at us! never again.

Full of nasty little chavs - don't bother.

Horrible. It might be a bit cheaper than the other options round here but it is full of lager louts and is WAY to bright inside.

what a nasty pub, idiots swigging alcopops, then throwing the bottles about, smokey with some real idiots and this was at 7 in the evening anybody with a brain will avoid this place

a complete sh*thole. dont bother, its full of absolute cretins and the staff look like they are on day release from st james hospital

At the prices they serve you can accept the horrific levels of smoke, which ruin the venue in the evening. Its a difference experience everytime, sometimes packed with one on the bar, sometimes the barstaff are queuing to serve you! Excellent prices for a preclubbing venue and also caters for people going to the theater across the road.

Food always looks great and if you can find a seat in the evening its a great place to start. Good mix of locals and students in the week.

Have been here a few times in the past year - first time even the barman was amazed how cheap it was!! Couldn't believe it. If you're after a cheap drink, providing they still are rock bottom, then this is your place. Food is also available - we had some good wedges and bits and pieces. Gets very busy at weekends though.

Has for some time had a special offer on for a double and a mixer for 2. That is about the best that can be said for it - packed out at weekends, the long bar is usually understaffed. It's one of those places that people go to because it's busy, the herd mentality thing. That and cheapish booze! I only end up in there on sufferance when out with a party of mates. There are better options available along Albert Rd.
