Hanging Gate, Diggleback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Paid a visit a few weeks ago, as we had also heard that the pub had changed hands, were selling new beers and had a new chef. Sadly, little appeared to have changed. The same few mass produced national cask beers and if anything a more basic pub grub menu (burgers etc) than before. There were only 3 other customers in the pub on a Sun teatime and no one came to serve us so we left and went elsewhere (Riverhead).

Just recently changed hands again (May 2009). I have heard that it is generally as good as it always was but I haven't been able to go in myself yet. Will post again once I've tried it out over the summer.

Friendly pub, lunchtime eating, surrounded by great walking. Beer, Deuchars IPA 4.4% enjoyed by us all. Good menu.

This is also my local pub and would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to eat/drink. The new owners are very welcoming, new menu is good value and from what I've tried very tasty too. Good beer garden to one side too with plenty seating.

Called in here recently the real ales were in good condition, the staff very friendly, overall a welcoming pub and worth another visit.

This is my local and has just changed hands (April 2006). The previous publicans did wonders with the place and made it a really welcoming boozer with decent beer, jukebox, darts, pool, quiz machine and live music, but still kept the food fantastic. The new owners look to be carrying on this tradition and I'd really recommend it as a great place to drink or eat no matter what you're after.
