Brilliant little pub. Staff lovely and friendly. There were a couple of live musicians the night we visited, good acoustics though, even though it's a tiny place. We found ourselves some seats at the back and were quiet comfortable. The barmaid even came over when the live music was finished and asked us to put whatever we liked on the juke box. Cracking little place.

what a great place -live music at week ends -more than you could ever expect from a tiny place but well worth an evening or two good choice of beers -good cask ales with guest choices as well-far exceeds any expectation, then stroll across the harbour to another fab place for a bite to eat at the quayside cafe -or for the morning after visit them for breakfast to put you right!
highly recommend both.

I completely forgot about writing a review about this pub after being on holiday back last June.

The outside of the pub is pokey but step inside and you find beer haven! Never heard of Bays beers (hardly suprising since I live near Kingston upon Thames) but judging by the couple of pints I had they are terrific, add to which they cost only 2 each. Needless to say you dont get that in Kingston very much.

Will defo be back next time in the vicinity, which hopefully will be soon, as I love Brixham.

The decor is a bit off putting but the beer, and the banter, are top notch. The barman ("happy days") is the life % sole.

Wonderful friendly bar in one of the nicest parts of England. If you are ever in the area, pay them a visit - you will not regret it.

AN excellent warm and welcoming pub. Some wonderful art work both inside and out. I have to say that Ive been to Brixham a few times and this is definatly the best pub in town.
Well done keep it up

Like the Bullers this pub has recently been taken on by a new couple and the result is a complete transformation from what it used to be. The couple are Neil and Sarah and they offer good beer, good music and will not tolerate any yobbish behavior. The reasult, unsurprisingly, is that they are very busy.

Tried this pub while down for a Whitsun break and found the beer is well kept with local Bay's (hand pump) and Otter (gravity) ales on sale at very reasonable prices. This is a live music pub, so not the place for a quiet chat. The new landlord is setting the upstairs for a possible quieter area.

Newly opened a couple of weeks ago by new Landlords.
Went down to Brixham for the bank holiday weekend and popped in to see what it was like on the Friday evening. Couldn't get us out. Went back every night until we absoloutely had to leave on Monday.
Lovely little pub, Fantastic atmosphere, Great ale, Friendly people and you couldn't ask for better landlords. Neil and his lady were perfectly friendly and I can't wait to go back. Just wish I lived nearer so I could drink in there every night.
Highly recommended. You wouldn't recognise the atmosphere from the old one.

Newly re-opened as an over 25's pub with excellent music and beer, we had a fantastic time over the May bank holiday.

What a waste! It looks very quiant on th eoutside and has an upstairs bar too. However when we went in that was closed, and there was a downstairs pokey area. We enjoyed it, very cosy for us to chat etc. and the landlord was nice, came over and chatted, and even let us have a shell ashtray to take home.

However, our vist was ruined by locals who hung at the bar and just kept staring at us and making comments. I was afraid to go past them for the loo, they said something then to me which I ignored and they moved away. It persited though and we'd just had enough and had to leave. it was obvious to the landlord what they were doing btu he did nto tell them off. Their loss as we never went back in again. Was shut last time I looked, not surprised really as lack of effort and horrid locals.

as ramone.
wasn't very imprssed with this one.
to be honest, mistook the name for the one at torquay.
I think the original old structure might have been rescue-able, but its been done out cheaply in tongue & groove pine.
wasn't inclined to stay long.

I may be being unfair, but I was planning to visit this pub, but just from the look of it, and the clentelle inside, I decided to give it a miss.
